With speculation suggesting that the Singapore GP could be the last race for Daniel Ricciardo at VCARB, Christian Horner said there is a “bigger picture” to look at in the Red Bull driver ranks after the race.

After losing his McLaren seat at the end of 2022, eight-time grand prix winner Ricciardo returned to F1 midway through 2023 with Red Bull’s sister team, AlphaTauri, now known as RB. He quickly set his sights on returning to the senior Red Bull team, where he raced between 2014 and 2018.

The three-time world champion was called to see the stewards in Singapore following the first free practice session on Friday, after which the FIA announced that he was in breach of their international sporting code and would be forced to undertake duties similar to community service within F1.

Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner has put an end to mounting speculation about a key driver decision within the team. The 50-year-old appeared to confirm that a driver within the Red Bull family will be tasked with supporting championship leader Max Verstappen for the remainder of the 2024 season.
